The Nursing department
of the ICO has as mission to contribute to the reduction of the
impact of cancer in Catalonia and to offer an integral and quality
service of cures to the people affected by cancer and to their
families or in their emotional background in the different situations
of health to promote the optimum state of assistance and quality
of life possible:
It participates actively in the different strategies
and activities of the Institution oriented to the fight against
cancer.
It uses the best available scientific evidence, from the prevention
area, diagnostic, treatment, rehabilitation and Palliative Cares,
as active members of the interdisciplinary teams.
It brings up to date the knowledge and the abilities by means
of the training and the research.
It promotes the activities of research aimed to improve the
base of the evidence in the assistance practice of Nursing.
