ICO participates in the sixth Fair “Recerca en Directe” (‘Live Research’)
|
On Thursday 10th and Friday 11th of April the Fair “Recerca en Directe 2008”, in which ICO participated, was celebrated.
The activity, organised by the Scientific Park of Barcelona with the suport of the ‘Obra Social de Caixa Catalunya’, showed the public some of the projects in which researchers of several centres and institutes in Barcelona are now working. In the case of ICO, there was an explanation on what the virus of the human papilloma is, its relation with the uterus neck cancer and the development of vaccines to prevent it. The Fair, which has taken place at the ‘Espacio Movistar’ (Campus Diagonal, C/Pascual i Vila s/n), wants our society to improve its scientific culture, and help the population have an access to the characteristic features of the scientific method through the researchers themselves. Thus, what we mean is to make the world of research grow closer to society, make the dialogue between the researchers and the citizens easier and to awake vocations among the young students.
