One of ICO’s teams, made up by members of the Bio-information technologies and Bio-statistics Unit, and the Translational Research Laboratory have based their research on the analysis of the information available in public data-bases to show that genes of the somatic mutome play a significant role in the generation and development of tumours in the breasts. The results have been published in Molecular Cancer under the title “Integrative analysis of a cancer somatic mutome” (2007, 6:13):
