Two nurses of ICO have been selected to participate in the Courses for Teacher’s Training of the “European Society of Oncology Nursing”

Raquel Azor Portoles, a nurse of the Clinic Haematology Service of the ICO in l’Hospitalet, was selected to take part in the Training Project ‘TITAN’, which took place in the Hotel Arts of Sitges on the 30th. and 31st. of March. This course was promoted by EONS and financed by AMGEN Laboratories and has counted on the teaching collaboration of Lourdes Guanter Peris, coordinator nurse of the Training Unit of the ICO. The objective of the TITAN project is to train oncology nurses in evaluation and cures in the face of the haematologic toxicity of the cancer patient.
Besides, Marisa Martínez Muñoz, a nurse of the Clinic Research Unit (UIC) of the ICO in l’Hospitalet, was chosen to participate in another training project, called TARGET, also promoted by EONS and which took place in Milan on the 12th.-13th. of May. The TARGET project has the aim to train nurses in the expert and safe handling of the inhibitors of the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) in the cancer treatment.
Both courses were aimed at training referent oncology nurses who are capable of developing a propagation project at a national scale meant for other nursing professionals who are in charge of cancer patients. Thus, Raquel Azor participated in the Training Programme at the Welcome’ 2006 of the ICO.
