Welcome to the Translational Research Laboratory (TRL).
Launched in 1999, the Translational Research Laboratory aims to close
the gap between clinicians, epidemiologists, and basic scientists
by facilitating the implementation of novel technologies to cancer
patient management. As part of a Comprehensive Cancer Center, we
are focused on gaining insight into the etiology of cancer, to provide
accurate cancer risk assessment, and to evaluate the potential diagnostic,
prognostic and predictive usefulness of genetic and molecular markers.
We are located in a state-of-the-art 800 sqm facility that includes
two large laboratories where advanced DNA, RNA, protein, and tissue
analyses are performed. We are a multidisciplinary team of biologists,
chemists, medical oncologists, radiotherapists, surgeons, biostatisticians,
and bioinformaticians devoted to excellence in cancer research, hoping
to improve cancer care.
