A key aspect
of the assistance model of the ICO is the Covenant between
the Hospital Ciutat
Sanitaria i Universitaria de Bellvitge and the Institut Català d'Oncologia:
The
article 16 of the Statutes of the Institute indicates, “The
public company Institut Català d'Oncologia and the Institut
Català of the Salut will reach an agreement of collaboration
in order to coordinate adequately the actions of the company
with the activities of the company and the hospital of Bellvitge.
This covenant affects education, assistance medium, research
and the support services that are necessary.
Assistance
It is an agreement to make it easier for the professionals
of the two institutions to have access to all the information
that is required for the correct treatment of the patient.
The dialogues between the professionals should be the best
tool for a good coordination.
The covenant stipulates the following aspects:
Admissions - Hospitalization, complementary explorations, cross-consults, emergencies,
operation theatres, special teams, shared functional units, clinical documentation
and quality politics.
General Services
By this, we mean the services of general maintenance
of the building and the distribution of prices and invoicing.
The themes stipulated are: maintenance contracts, delimitation
of spaces, telephone communications, security, radiation therapy
protection, taking care of the residues, laundry, lingerie, audiovisual,
data treatment, funeral, customer service, internal transportation,
administrative support and others.
Teaching
It establishes the stipulations corresponding to:
post-graduate formation (MIR), Commission of teaching, continuous
formation, post-graduate formation and an agreement with the
University; data treatment network.
Research
It establishes the stipulations with: the August
Pi i Sunyer Foundation, the CSUB Commission Research, FISS mixed
Unit, Epidemiological-Clinical Unit, Committee of clinical trials,
Stabling, Bank of Tumours and Committee of Assistance Ethics.
Budgetary
subrogation
It means the aspects referred to budgetary entries
that were estimated for the creation of the ICO in 1995.
Economic evaluation, criteria and rules that regulate the invoicing
A Monitor Commission
Whose chairperson is managing director and
a peer number of representatives of the CSUB and the ICO.
It will be responsible for the fulfilment and the monitoring
of the agreement.
The duration of the Agreement can be prorogued for the
natural year by means of a written agreement from the two
parts.
