In 1997, ICO (after the acronym in Catalan: Institut Català d’Oncologia – Catalan Institute of Oncology) created the Clinical Research Unit. This was meant to be dedicated exclusively to supervising and coordinating the Clinical Research within the Institute. This unit, which is under the Ico Management, has the following objectives:
To cooperate, on its own, in the research with patients at ICO
To support researchers
To manage therapeutic clinical trials
To create its own research lines
To cooperate actively in the programmes of translational research. Currently, we are working in fields such as oncolytic viruses, the programmes of development of new drugs, or angiogenesis
Research on statistics methodology
